Hello, I’m Christina Brown

I’m a Certified Advanced Peer Addiction Specialist (CAPAS), Community Services Worker, Employment Specialist, and author.

My Journey

My journey began as a mother watching someone I love struggle with addiction. Through years of uncertainty, heartbreak, hope, and healing, I discovered how isolating this experience can be for families.

Combined with my professional experience supporting individuals in community services, that journey inspired me to create Unity Path Family Support—a place where families can find understanding, practical resources, and hope, knowing they don’t have to face this path alone.

Why Unity Path Family Support?

Unity Path Family Support was inspired from both my personal journey and my professional experience.

As the parent of a loved one affected by addiction, I know firsthand that addiction impacts the entire family. Families often carry fear, grief, guilt, and uncertainty while trying to support someone they love.

My own journey taught me the importance of faith, education, healthy boundaries, and self-care. It inspired me to write Love, Let Go, and Hope and Learning to Breathe Again, and to create Unity Path Family Support.

I believe there is no single path to healing. My hope is to provide encouragement, practical resources, and a place where individuals and families feel supported as they take one step at a time.

Breaking the Silence

Addiction is often surrounded by stigma, leaving many families feeling isolated and unheard. Honest conversations can reduce shame, build understanding, and remind us that seeking support is a sign of strength—not weakness.

By breaking the silence, we help create a more compassionate community where individuals and families feel safe to ask questions, share their experiences, and find support.

My Hope

Unity Path Family Support is a place to learn, grow, and connect. My work is educational and peer-based—I do not provide counselling, psychotherapy, diagnosis, treatment, or crisis intervention.

I know all too well the roller coaster of loving someone affected by addiction; the heartache, sleepless nights, anxiety, uncertainty, and the overwhelming range of emotions it brings.

Families need support too. We didn’t cause this, yet so many of us are left trying to navigate the challenges of addiction, support the person we love, and make difficult decisions with little guidance or support for ourselves.

My hope is to bring greater awareness to the needs of families and remind them that they deserve compassion, support, and hope too.

Their stories matter, their loved one matters, and they matter too.  Let's  equip individuals and families with practical resources, trustworthy information, and encouragement while promoting self-care, healthy boundaries, and community connection.

Thank you for visiting. I’m grateful you’re here.
